NEWS & UPDATES

Latest Update

Feb 2  -   I archived the news pages.

Feb 4  -   I just finished a page on Catamount/Thunder Road driver Lennie "Tiger" Stockwell.

Feb 6  -   I added more to the page Alphabet Cars.

Feb 8  -   I added a new page Those Crazy Cutdowns about a type of car run in New England in the 1950's. I also want to thank all those who have been working with me lately on Facebook, making new photos and materials available to me. I will use these many materials wherever and whenever I can. The job of covering from New England, through eastern New York, and Southern Canada gets to be a bit overwhelming at times.

Laduc Family Collection
This seldom - seen photo speaks volumes. Lennie Wood F30 is a year away from being the Unbeatable Lennie Wood; but, he is still a force in the hobby class. The 55A of Gene Hoard was the first somewhat professioally - built hobby car. He took more pains with it and completed it before the cars like Dexter Dorr's 29, Wood's F30, and Hank Schmidt's 95 came out. Charlie Laduc would go on to a sportsman career, leaving his
Oldsmobile to brother, Phil. Tim Baker would mostly stay in the late models and have a hall of fame - type career. Pudge ? Well not.

Feb 9  -   Thanks to Pete, Jr.'s great Facebook page, I added considerable material to the Pete Corey page.

Feb 12  -   I added a ton of stuff to the Devil's Bowl page, thanks to all that great material on Facebook. Took forever.  I also put up the latest blog Weekly Blog February 12, 2016  - entitled Outdoor Roller Derby Anyone ?  Being stuck inside with a cold, I also added a new page, the Al "Suicide" Sanders page.

Feb 14  -      Happy Valentine's, honey - way down there in North Carolina ! I added a ton of stuff to the All Star League page, and there's still lots more to add another time.

Feb 16  -   I added a page on my friend, George Proctor, one of the unsung stars of earlier New York racing. The Proctor family is a large force in racing in their region.

Feb 22  -   I added photos to the Larry Demar page.

Feb 26 -    After the great clippings put on Facebook by Marty Kelly, Jr. - I added the first of mutliple pages linked to the Fairmont page that will show the clipping and then show the cars mentioned in the article.  The first one is called Fairmont Herald Article 1, although it covers the first five clippings I got from Marty.  I also decided to add another Weekly Blog called Sometimes Racing Folks Find a Cross Between Sports. [about racing people who starred in another sport first].

Feb 27 -    I added another page called  Fairmont Article 2, which includes clippings 6 through 10 about the 1962 Fairmont Speedway season.

Feb 28 -    I added another page called Fairmont Article 3, which includes clippings 11 through 15 about the 1962 Fairmont Speedway season.

Feb 29 -    Happy Leap Day ! I added another page called Fairmont Article 4, which covers the last clipping and the last race [which ahd no clipping].   @&
