LINK PETTIT

Through the good graces of a friend, Joe Grossetti, I now have a good collection of Link Pettit photos. Schenectady, New York's Pettit, whose team hailed from Great Barrington, Massachusetts, looked more like a high school librarian than a stock car driver. Opinions of him range from Lebanon Valley immortal to vastly overrated. I saw him race only once, so I have no opinion other than I appreciate these fine pictures of racing long past. I did meet Link at a breakfast gathering in Watervliet in July of 2007, and I found him to be a fine man - so I am going to go with the Valley legend label.
