McIver Portrait Photos
A Different Look at the Faces Who Made Racing History in the Northeast
Each section of the region I cover on this
site has one or more photographers whose work has served to preserve the
pre- Catamount Stadium racing history of that section. Around Fairmont, it was
Bob Frazier; around Airborne, it was Bob Mackey; around Thunder Road, it was Bob
Doyle; in New York, there was McDowell, Bergh, and King; and in the Northeast
Kingdom of Vermont - it was Norman McIver.
I first saw the photographic work of
Norman McIver from
racing archivist Cho Lee. These are all portrait - type shots, and many of them are from the George
Barber collection. George should certainly be in one of these, as the Dean of
Northeast Racing, but he is not. Norman was one of the only guys to do drivers
in portraiture like this.

This is nowhere near all the portraits. More coming when time.
